About me

I specialise in bad credit mortgages because very few brokers are interested in offering this specialist advice as the process is very time consuming. Understanding adverse credit lenders criteria is far more complex, time consuming and trickier than dealing with a mortgage from a High Street lender. With only a handful of subprime lenders to choose from, getting it right first time is very important.

The value of advice

Mortgages are a lot more difficult than they first appear. Knowing what rate, what term, what lender, what features, what insurance are all time-consuming and complex matters. Choosing a mortgage is a process far more complicated than simply the lowest rate or the best incentives. I take your whole circumstances into account to recommend a suitable product. And it’s that thorough, professional look at your finances that makes advice well worth paying for.

Why use me to arrange your mortgage?

What do I do that you can’t? And why should you pay me for my services when there are loads of other costs when you move home or remortgage? However tempting it is to arrange your own mortgage let me convince you to use me as my advice could be an invaluable service and here’s why…

You’re protected

An important thing to understand is that when you receive mortgage advice, I have a duty of care to recommend the most suitable mortgage for you and be able to justify why the particular mortgage I recommended is right for you. If my advice is not up to scratch you can complain and be compensated.

I am qualified

There’s an awful lot to choosing the right mortgage as it is not as simple as just the cheapest fixed or tracker rate mortgage you can find. I have to be qualified to give you mortgage advice. I have the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) Levels 1, 2 & 3 and Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice CeMAP

I am on your side

As an whole of market mortgage broker, I will look for the best mortgage for you. I am on your side not the lenders.

I know my industry

Mortgage criteria has tightened considerably over the past few years but I deal with lenders on a day-to-day basis. I know which lenders can process your application without unnecessary delays. I also know the background criteria that a lender has and can bring this experience to bear when advising you and processing your application. Because I might put a lot of business to a particular lender in a year, I can make the process as smooth as possible by liaising with the underwriters directly.

It’s not just about the mortgage

I won’t just advise you about your mortgage. I will also look at any related life insurance, payment protection and even buildings and contents insurance you have. I will recommend insurance based on your new mortgage arrangements to make sure you are fully protected in the event of:

  • Death
  • Critical illness (such as cancer, heart attack or stroke)
  • Redundancy
  • Income replacement

I have a choice of five insurances I can recommend for these products saving you the time and effort of having to shop around.

As with all insurance policies, conditions and exclusions will apply

Don’t be put off by my fee

Adverse credit mortgage advice tailored to your particular situation is a unique service. Think of it like this; if you need to have a tooth removed or need your appendix taken out, you could do it yourself. What’s stopping you? Or you could employ the services of an expert to do the job properly.

We experienced difficulty in finding our original mortgage and Steve and Sue were instrumental in helping us purchase our first home. Likewise, when it came to remortgaging 2 years later they were pivotal in finding us a suitable mortgage rate with a new provider.

I have used Steve twice now and both times he has been professional and has always listened to me, which was very reassuring when I was considering not buying anymore and giving up on the process.

Steve and Sue have been fantastic, they worked hard to get our application pushed through before Christmas and were on hand and very responsive to any questions that we had regarding our mortgage application. I would highly recommend.

Steve and Sue are extremely helpful and professional. I always have lots of questions to ask and Steve and Sue are always happy to take the time to answer or research and reach out to potential mortgage providers to seek answers and reply very quickly. I would highly recommend SN Mortgages to anybody seeking to find a mortgage product.
